Stair Lift FAQ

What is a Stair Lift?

A stair lift is a mobility device that takes the user up a flight of stairs, eliminating the need to walk up the stairs.

What is the weight capacity of the Stair Lift?

We offer a 350lb industry leading weight capacity on the SL350AC, SL350DC and SL350OD models. We also carry the only Heavy Duty Stair Lift in the industry with a weight capacity of 500lbs.

What maintenance is required for a stair lift?

Another plus in purchasing a Cable Driven Stair Lift is that it requires very little maintenance. Every 2 to 4 months, you will want to wipe out the inside of the track channels. Apply a thin coat of light body general purpose grease (lithium) to the vertical surfaces of the track channel where the chassis wheels roll.

Does the stair lift mount to the wall or stairs?

For a secure and safe mount, our stair lifts mount to the stairs themselves and not the wall.

Why is it important to purchase a Stair Lift that swivels at both the top and the bottom of the stairs?

Most stair lift units only swivel at the top of the staircase and not the bottom. This causes a safety issue for the user when accessing the stair lift at the bottom. Stepping straight onto a step can lead to an accidental fall. You should always enter and exit your stair lift from a flat landing at both the top and bottom of your stairs. Our stair lifts swivel at both the top and the bottom of the staircase to provide maximum safety.

Why should I buy a custom cut stair lift?

Most providers and installers charge a fee for this, whether the cutting is done by the manufacturer or your installer. LiftWorks understands that every stair lift will need to be custom cut and therefore, we do not charge our customers a fee for this service. Your stair lift is custom cut by the professionals who manufacture your stair lift.
